Somabar is looking for a mobile developer to work for a growing startup in the IoT/Beverage/Cocktail space (Robot Bartending!).

The mobile developer will be primarily responsible for developing an Android app based on an existing iOS project. The ultimate goal of which will be to create a Hybrid project that supports both iOS and Android. An alternative hybrid mobile development framework such as React Native will be seriously considered based on the applicant’s experience. We are looking for someone with eagerness to take on a new project, enthusiasm for solving interesting problems, and passion for technology.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and test an Android mobile app using Dart/Flutter to match features and functionality of a pre-existing iOS app.
• Work closely with technical leadership and fellow developers in planning, designing, and translating mobile solutions.
• Design front-end user interface.
• Consume REST services with JSON.

Preferred Skills:

• Practical Programming Experience in Dart/Flutter on Android. iOS a plus.
• Understanding of (or desire to learn) mobile Bluetooth connection and communication between mobile and external devices.
• Experience with Swift, Kotlin, Java, or JavaScript is a plus for extending Dart functionality and working with current developers to create parity between projects.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

Job Type: Contract/Hourly (with possibility of full time in the future)
